Little Black Box

 Little Black Box

God grand creator of the universe

By whose hand the Earth’s form took

No matter how profound the verse

Could you be contained in a book?

Omnipotent infinite able to do all

To be in a block box ever so small

You’re able to make real the slightest whim

Would you make a home in my poem?

Black and white laws a system of rules

They quote the Bible as perfect fools

Twisting manipulative serving their own end

They mock your Spirit and call you friend

Crystal clear to Love it is to obey

Yet their love is but a word they say

In slavery bound by their sin and desire

They claim the truth but each is a liar

The little black box it sits on my table

Whatever your will it is then able

The little black box I put it on my shelf

I look inside only to find myself

A firefly captured by children in delight

They gaze at the magical mystical light

You’re in the black box I have no doubt

Perhaps one day I will let you out

These words perhaps they depict your soul

To show you love yes that is my goal

In a little black box tiny as a star

In a little black box is where you are

Contrast, there is heaven there is hell

You’ll see the difference it is easy to tell

Love is the word written on my heart

In a little black box never to part

In a little black box kept secure

I wish it was something better something more

A little black box they do not understand

From deep within there comes the command

Listen my dear one and yes you’ll hear

But could you hear and not know fear

A little black box convenient in hand

I wonder if you’ll ever understand

Pushing The Rock Up The Hill

Pushing The Rock Up The Hill

I declare by this aching back and sore feet

That the sweat of my brow is not so sweet

I saw Sisyphus body slam Jesus

And since then, before the final amen there was them and us

Rosa Parks, skin so dark, refused to sit at the back of the bus

Now we get jet airplanes in Dubai

And B-1 bombers a billion of pop that don’t fly

And the boulder on my shoulder is getting bolder

Every second the universe is cursed getting older

Shouldn’t we digress and express the blessing

Where in time is the crime, I stand only guessing

Inch by inch becomes a mile without a smile

Sensational darling love that poetic style

Climb, climb, climb

Rhyme, rhyme, free verse

See this all but a metaphor

But what for?

Birthday wishes for a dear Facebook friend name Bruce

Turn up the candles twist the fire of desire loose

Life is meant for the living, no excuse

We all have our moments of abuse

Dreams come true

I met her and she/he met you

Pushing the rock up the hill

And I suppose I always will

Pushing the rock up the hill

Still

You can always enjoy the view

Engraved in stone God’s will

Thou shall not kill

But heads of rock may shock

And if the hill is steep

That faithful promise they cannot keep

Don’t let that evil rock roll down

United at the zenith we collect our laurel crown

Peace, peace, be still

Pushing the rock up the hill

Blighted The World

 Blighted The World

You spent days in the maze going all ways

Hyped you typed the words to the latest craze

What a pretender you can never surrender

Through the door the Minotaur the game ender

Scorned by your girl

So you blighted the world

The whore of the Minotaur

So you blighted the world

The rat runs from the cat chases the cheese

When you are homeless you do as you please

You served your time and you did no crime

Except for obeying orders and marching in line

Scorned by your girl

So you blighted the world

The whore of the Minotaur

So you blighted the world

They are gentrifying Harlem way uptown

The orders are given from the banks on down

While the disheveled veteran sleeps on grate

Mass production it’s hard to function with hate

LSD slips in his juice

He is free fabulously loose

He chases the dragon today

Tomorrow is the time to pay

Tomorrow and what more

Enter the Minotaur

Scorned by your girl

So you blighted the world

The whore of the Minotaur

So you blighted the world

In that fatal moment when insanity becomes real

You cannot repent or even see the total deal

And with open eyes you realize Babylon

With trembling slips time slips and all is gone

Scorned by your girl

So you blighted the world

The whore of the Minotaur

So you blighted the world

Sunrise Over Saskatchewan

Sunrise Over Saskatchewan

Sunrise over Saskatchewan

Where have all the good times gone?

In the past forever to last in memory

While tomorrow offers the tempting promises of eternity

With Malcolm X I demand respect

Who are you to cajole and vex?

I am free

Standing under understanding the glory of the pine tree

Water is life

To my rhythmic lovers of fantasy I am more than wife

Cut deeply oh sacred knife – cleansed by the fire’s flame

I TOO HAVE DESIRE!!!

I bear no shame

Stab into marrow and bone

I stand alone

With friends and family

I am free

I see the tea?

A gentle watering can appropriately green

A funky white container with flowers pretty

Ever been to New York City?

Babylon is not as pretty as a

Sunrise over Saskatchewan

Our collective innocence is gone

And this is a birthday pome?

I missed the garden have pardon

Let me bake you a cake

Let me be real and not fake

Let me say have a special day

For this is the anniversary of your birth

Janice Lee Dongworth

Here’s a clue

Like Jesus, I love you

But as we go on in time and fades this rhyme

Will that be true?

Cash the photoflash the moment is gone

Song Of Praise

Song Of Praise

Listen hear birds swing sweetly a song of praise

Chirping a vision of better days

The melody is hope the words true

It’s a song for me it’s a song for you

Won’t you come along and help sing our song?

One voice is weak many are strong

It is a song of victory to right every wrong

Won’t you come along and help sing our song?

Our father in heaven watches with a smile

In His eyes our fight is worthwhile

A reward awaits after the trial

Face the terror and forsake denial

Won’t you come along and help sing our song?

One voice is weak many are strong

It is a song of victory to right every wrong

Won’t you come along and help sing our song?

Preacher man says don’t you understand

Preacher man came and stole the land

Hypocrisy turning love to hate

See the evil the preacher man creates

But God is Love and his Way will come to pass

Dark skin doesn’t make us second class

The fight for freedom in paramount

I ask you brother on you can we count?

Won’t you come along and help sing our song?

One voice is weak many are strong

It is a song of victory to right every wrong

Won’t you come along and help sing our song?

Listen family Africa will be free

For we shall rise it’s our destiny

And God himself shall lend us a hand

Trust in Him you know He does understand

Won’t you come along and help sing our song?

One voice is weak many are strong

It is a song of victory to right every wrong

Won’t you come along and help sing our song?

A Hurt Lover’s Lonesome Night

 A Hurt Lover’s Lonesome Night

Late night hush

Silence transcends to heavenly stars

Eternal lights never knowing sleep

Countless secrets they keep

No horoscope, no divination could give insight

And Allmighty God chose not to speak that night

Just like yesterday

Or the day before

And before and before and before

But one day, some day, we hope for more

Ten thousand agonies of a heart broken

Emotions overflowing yet nothing spoken

Except for the screaming of her misty tears

And the sounds of creations that have been echoing for years

It is not that there is no voice

It is that we refuse to hear

And that is by choice

Who has not known woe?

Or felt the bitter pain?

That nobody could know

Let alone explain

And so she remains in her solitude

Cept for the infinite stars above

And thus we conclude

Keeping in tact the mystery known as Love

She’s The Poetry

She’s The Poetry

She’s got silver bells that jingle on her shoes

Happy chords on the guitar mock the blues

Life is a long song and she’s the poetry

Come on baby won’t you come dancing with me

She’s the poetry life’s so alive

She’s the poetry it’s how we survive

She’s the poetry rhythm and jive

She’s the poetry life’s so alive

Take time to rhyme can you hear the church bells chime?

A heart full of love that’s my only crime

Hand in hand answering a prophetic call

When something rises then something else must fall

She’s the poetry life’s so alive

She’s the poetry it’s how we survive

She’s the poetry rhythm and jive

She’s the poetry life’s so alive

Angels and demons flying on the winds of peace

Armies stop marching warships come to a cease

Dream of tomorrow dream of a better day

Come and follow the youth let them lead the way

She’s the poetry life’s so alive

She’s the poetry it’s how we survive

She’s the poetry rhythm and jive

She’s the poetry life’s so alive

Flowers in her hair San Francisco Bay

Hours in care on her knees to pray

See the sunrise before innocent eyes

Peace love and understanding our prize

Shaking on shake down street they got subtle moves

The chorus before us got great grand grooves

Joy to the world the moment is now at hand

Take out the music score and strike up the band

She’s the poetry life’s so alive

She’s the poetry it’s how we survive

She’s the poetry rhythm and jive

She’s the poetry life’s so alive

Forty Years

Forty Years (For Leonard Peltier)

Forty years

Bound by iron and stone

Many tears

Weeping alone

My brothers and sisters slain

Should I have stood

Idle in my pain

Would that have been for the greater good?

This land

It is still ours

Understand

Each of Mother Earth's scars

Rips apart

My soft and tender heart

I AIM to be free

It is my dream

So shall it be

Whether by whisper or scream

On the horizon there is rising a red storm

We shall never conform

Truth can never fail

We shall prevail

Forty years

In defense of what is right

Forty years

I see the dawn breaking in light

POLISHED FRAGMENTS

Poet To The Poor

Is This The Way Its Supposed To Be?

Is This The Way Its Supposed To Be?

Be a good citizen march in line

Dream of heaven mighty fine

Do as mommy and daddy say

You’ll understand one distant day

One day oh yes one day

Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

Is this hell or is it just me?

A slave in the land of the free

Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

High schools full of rules

Get good grades avoid the fools

Go to college get a degree

Major in the art of agony

Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

Is this hell or is it just me?

A slave in the land of the free

Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

There is a chemical imbalance inside your brain

Clinically practically you have gone insane

Never mind about the illogical disconnect

The lying hate of the state we must protect

Jesus Christ He is the Son of God

Crucified and slandered a fraud

Never mind the words that He said

We’ll tell you what to think instead

Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

Is this hell or is it just me?

A slave in the land of the free

Is this the way it’s supposed to be?

Biztopia

 Biztopia

Mister Grumblecock was a traveling salesman

A dinosaur in this virtual age of click and buy

But he is an element in the overall Master Plan

A first hand witness who can effectively lie

All the while keeping a smile upon his face

Mister Grumblecock is a man of luxury

Who will not settle for the common whore

While drowning himself with martinis into obscurity

His sole desire is more, more and of course more

Like a false gospel with promises void of grace

Biztopian experts desire an asphalt domain

A world where digits on a computer are supreme

“It is good for business” no reason to explain

Efficiency and compliance the ultimate dream

Who cares if Mother Earth has a desecrated face?

Mister Grumblecock is experienced in the deal

Weapons, narcotics, sex slaves, it’s all the same

At the end of the day nothing is truly real

Everybody is a piece in a gigantic chess game

What is wrong with keeping the poor in their place?

Mister Grumblecock sits riding in a jet plane

Lusting after the stewardess desiring a tryst

He is a fine businessman, what more to explain?

Still in his mind a lingering doubt does persist

Exactly why is he running so hard in this race?

Mister Grumblecock died of a heart attack

Not a single person cared enough to mourn

In this world of life we can never go back

It’s a one way street from the day we’re born

Mister Grumblecock always the Jack never the ace

Baseball

 Baseball

The thrill of opening day

We're finally on our way

On the field of dreams

As the crowd screams

Hanging on every pitch

I got the playoff itch

I can recall

Every strike and ball

Sometimes I wish I could fire

The umpire

Baseball is a fair game

Twenty seven outs

To each the same

Some we’ll win

And some we’ll lose

Just come October

I want good news

Golden gloves

And everybody loves

A homerun

When it’s over

It seems like it just begun

Through winter’s snow

Don’t you know

I vividly recall

All

Baseball

Beyond the Rainbow Song 16

Beyond the Rainbow  Song 16

What does it mean my friend

Death is it really the end

I really don’t know

But I think

Something’s beyond the rainbow

We buried Sticks today

He’s gone down my daddy’s way

One day it’ll be my turn

Perhaps the answer I’ll learn

What does it mean my friend

Death is it really the end

I really don’t know

But I think

Something’s beyond the rainbow

Ashes to ashes dust to dust

What doesn’t burn is gonna rust

I don’t wanna rest in peace

May the Music never cease

What does it mean my friend

Death is it really the end

I really don’t know

But I think

Something’s beyond the rainbow

Chancellor Avenue

Chancellor Avenue

The stars don't frequent

Chancellor Avenue

But on the odd chance

That they do

It won't be cause

They are flaunting the laws

And counting the cost

No they would be

Simply

Lost

In the White House

They have celebrities galore

Every day on the plate

They got some more

Phony and fake

As the politician's smiling promise

So why the great divide?

We're all equal

Huh

When they need cannon fodder

Brave patriots

To kill and die

They'll flood Chancellor Avenue

With an impeccable lie

But let me get you some related news

About Chancellor Avenue

You can get the best of the best

To be your honorary guest

No matter who

We'll out do you in the blues

It's true

On Chancellor Avenue
