Au De Restaurant (k29)

Au De Restaurant (k29)

Last night I saw Jim Morison’s twin brother

It had to be him it could be none other

He was singing blues in a little French café

And boy did he sure parlez vous francais

The waiter came by and said bonjour

I pointed to my beer and said some more

Then I spotted a sweet mademoiselle

I knew she wanted me I could just tell

Au de restaurant

You got what I want

Au de restaurant

You got what I want

Well I saw mademoiselle staring at me

She came by and said je m’appelle Marie

The dame sat next to me right at the table

I tell you I was willing and able

I told her you are a beautiful lady

She looked at me and said no speaka anglais

Then she said something with the word l’armour

That word meant love I heard it before

So I hastily said my au revoir

Then I left Marie and went to the bar

Au de restaurant

You got what I want

Au de restaurant

You got what I want

I was sitting next to long dead Jim’s twin

He was drinking from a bottle of gin

He whispered no one hear gets out alive

I laughed in his face and said you’re full of jive

He gave a quick chuckle and smiled a grin

He said to me they way you talk it’s a sin

I said who appointed you God and Lord

He took a swig of gin and said no word

I was fairly drunk my head started to swim

I said Mister who do you think you are Jim

Au de restaurant

You got what I want

Au de restaurant

You got what I want

Yes all that stuff happened to my yesterday

At a French place called the Dead Man’s café

They got what you want

Au de restaurant

For Deyshia Hargrave

 For Deyshia Hargrave

I am the chronicler of our time

Deyshia Hargrave

You had best behave

Let me tell you of her crime

She wasn’t chewing bubble gum

That would have been glum

There was no teasing at all

Or wandering without a pass in the hall

Not a single vicious spitball was cast

Still her transgression was vast

Deyshia simply spoke her mind

To those in authority

But the bosses weren’t so kind

And in the Land of The Free

She was evicted from the room

Deyshia left voluntarily

But once outside the assembly

The marshal laid down the boom

Handcuffing Deyshia Hargrave

As if she was some wayward slave

She protested

To be molested

Then arrested

So the moral of the story

With all the unwanted glory

Teachers be smart and wise

Organize, organize, organize

One thing that you lack

Watch one another’s back

Money And Power

 Money And Power

Capitalism’s cat she’s a playboy bunny

She doesn’t dig true love it’s pure money

A wad of cash and she’s your sweet honey

She’ll laugh at all your jokes even if they ain’t funny

Twin demons money and power

A hungry beast seeks to devour

Now is darkness and the final hour

Bowing down to money and power

An ogre with orange hair he’s selling us out

He looks in the mirror that’s all he’s about

What profit a man to gain the whole world’s control

And at the very same time you lose your soul

Twin demons money and power

A hungry beast seeks to devour

Now is darkness and the final hour

Bowing down to money and power

Martin counts every penny he’s got a disease

He wants a life of leisure to do as he please

Lie after lie it’s the blind leading the blind

Generals and bankers a blight on mankind

Twin demons money and power

A hungry beast seeks to devour

Now is darkness and the final hour

Bowing down to money and power

In Red China a million soldiers march in line

In Harvard business school mammon is divine

Pay your indulgences so you can enter paradise

Give all to the poor it’s my best advice

The final countdown Babylon’s beginning to fall

The Masters of War snivel wanting it all

Cracks in the foundation hear the Liberty Bell

They offer you heaven only to give you hell

Twin demons money and power

A hungry beast seeks to devour

Now is darkness and the final hour

Bowing down to money and power

Trouble In Ecuador

 Trouble In Ecuador

The Spanish walked right through the Inca’s door

Like Genghis Khan and sadly so many more

A place of grace where the cocaine is pure

Tell it sister there’s trouble in Ecuador

Trouble in Ecuador

A victim of endless war

People perpetually poor

Trouble in Ecuador

Priests came with their Catholic ambition

Defining the missionary position

Men dressed in black criminally scary

On your knees bow to the Virgin Mary

Trouble in Ecuador

A victim of endless war

People perpetually poor

Trouble in Ecuador

Paradise would be nice but gold is better

We’ll be kind do you mind an iron fetter

And the gods are sleeping just like before

Tell it brother there’s trouble in Ecuador

Trouble in Ecuador

A victim of endless war

People perpetually poor

Trouble in Ecuador

I want to laugh in the rain and live without pain

I want to be happy and be free from being vain

But there are gringos with capitalistic greed

Those who have plenty take from those in need

Quoting Marx the war of the classes

In our part of the jungle nobody passes

This is our own land of that I am sure

Tell it mister there’s trouble in Ecuador.

Trouble in Ecuador

A victim of endless war

People perpetually poor

Trouble in Ecuador
