Dating In The 20th Century

 Dating In The 20th Century

Love is a four letter word and so shall it be

Face to face living in a place of reality

I held your hand and baby that was the start

I came to understand the beauty of your heart

Back in the days when America was free

We were dating in the twentieth century

It was me and you and you and me

We were dating in the twentieth century

Tripping on modernization in chaotic times

Clever poets were ever searching for better rhymes

Darling tell me one and one do they make two

Darling tell me can you make all my dreams come true

Back in the days when America was free

We were dating in the twentieth century

It was me and you and you and me

We were dating in the twentieth century

Driving the long way home for a romantic view

Whispering sweet nothings the way that lovers do

I was seeking some pie in the sky fantasy

Dreaming of the ideal trying to feel the real me

Back in the days when America was free

We were dating in the twentieth century

It was me and you and you and me

We were dating in the twentieth century

I had visions of you in radiant naked glory

In deepest sin we told the blatant story

True lovers the truth discovers the very soul

Singing the blues in the age of rock and roll

Music on the radio we were singing along

Words of the prophets they were making us strong

Two voices united in the melody of the few

The voices united baby it was me and you

Back in the days when America was free

We were dating in the twentieth century

It was me and you and you and me

We were dating in the twentieth century

My Song

My Song

I’m a young person living in an old world

Dreaming of someday being a rock and roll girl

I’ll be singing in the Garden in New York City

And all my fans will say Isn’t She So Pretty

These days I claim as mine

Thanx I’m doing just fine

Music she’s my angel divine

These words I claim as mine

You don’t need to be grown up to sing the blues

All you gotta do is wakeup and listen to the news

Don’t dare you say that you’re speaking what’s on my mind

I want a world of LOVE and that means being kind

These days I claim as mine

Thanx I’m doing just fine

Music she’s my angel divine

These words I claim as mine

You don’t need a crystal ball to see the times

I hear the widow weeping as the church bell chimes

I’m telling you all that I’ve got a solution

I’m telling you all about a rock and roll revolution

These days I claim as mine

Thanx I’m doing just fine

Music she’s my angel divine

These words I claim as mine

I never met John Lennon in Strawberry fields

But the will of the people never yields

Captain America silently weeps off stage

Hear the drums rocking with my rage

One day I’ll grow old if there ain’t no nuclear war

I pray to God Almighty that I can stay pure

But today is the time for me to right every wrong

So I get up here and I’m a singing this song

These days I claim as mine

Thanx I’m doing just fine

Music she’s my angel divine

These words I claim as mine

Melody

Melody

Everybody has a key

An inner synchronicity

Come and learn

Take a turn

And you shall be free

Open the door

To so much more

Old and young

Have a song to be sung

The rhythm of the heart

Never does part

Of that I am certain

Until the final curtain

Our words are by choice

As is the voice

It is all we possess

By it we bless

Into deep infinity

Always through eternity

So shall it be

Our melody

Atoms And The Void

 Atoms And The Void

Buck Rogers

Was feeling annoyed

He was drafted by the L.A. Dodgers

But on second base

He lost grace

With a slip worthy of Freud

And the pennant race

Was lost

So God started counting the cost

And the hero’s career

Began to disappear

Knowing he wasn’t growing younger

Still possessing a cancerous hunger

Buck bought a one way ticket

To the red world of Mars

With luck he fought his way through the thicket

To the land of electrical guitars

But our bold dashing astronaut

Got caught

Embarrassed and red faced

As he only played bass

So once more

A promising future

Was destroyed

So unable to function

Buck pushed the red button

And all the did remain

Besides the pain

Were

(And I know this for sure)

Atoms and the void
