Cathy at the Texaco Station

 Cathy at the Texaco Station

Cathy

Pumping gas to truck and car

With a uniform red and a white star

The gas ain’t free

Everyone has to pay

The oil is bought

By wars fought

And Cathy’s uniform all red

Resemble many shot dead

Solders, women, children too

Very sad but very true

Somewhere an oil CEO

Is snorting his blow

Trying not to care

But all the while aware

In his wicked soul

As his conscience takes its toll

And Cathy

Needs to buy food to sup

So she says happily

Fill her up?

Merry Go Round

Merry Go Round

Love is a promise we should all keep

Love’s a mystery an ocean deep

Sorry baby that I made you weep

You ain’t the only one losing sleep

I found myself on the merry-go-round

Like a slave to my emotions I was bound

Endless searches but nothing ever found

Take my hand on this merry-go-round

Ain’t no stopping for once life is real

What are the rules I gotta know the deal

Without you I’m empty with you I’m whole

The more I take the less I control

I found myself on the merry-go-round

Like a slave to my emotions I am bound

Endless searches but nothing ever found

Take my hand on this merry-go-round

In the dream I never heard the scream

I’m searching for power to redeem

The climb is without end I see the view

All Earth’s kingdoms are nothing without you

I found myself on the merry-go-round

Like a slave to my emotions I was bound

Endless searches but nothing ever found

Take my hand on this merry-go-round

At the carnival riding on the Ferris wheel

I snook a kiss and a little feel

Decades before I explore my memory

I know the truth and I am far from free

I keep saying tomorrow will be fine

I keep saying that you’ll soon be mine

Between weddings and funerals my dear

The grace of your face fills me with fear

I found myself on the merry-go-round

Like a slave to my emotions I was bound

Endless searches but nothing ever found

Take my hand on this merry-go-round

Your heart will confess yes your mind says no

In endless circles on the race we go

Riding the merry-go-round till life’s done

Riding the merry-go-round never one

I found myself on the merry-go-round

Like a slave to my emotions I was bound

Endless searches but nothing ever found

Take my hand on this merry-go-round

Defeating Thanos With The Infinity Gauntlet

Defeating Thanos With The Infinity Gauntlet

Thanos mad god of Titan

Saturn’s moon

Evil and diabolical

A harbinger of doom

One day with great regret

Acquired the Infinity Gauntlet

Six gems upon the glove

Time, Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Soul,

It gave the mad god complete control

Over all save Love

Thanos for his beloved Mistress Death

Sought to choke all of life’s breath

All the heroes of planet Earth

Fought to prove their worth

X-Men, Avengers, Defenders

Were simply pretenders

Even the Incredible Hulk

Went to sulk

Thanos smashed them like flies

As he felt the highest of highs

But Adam Warlock

Gave Thanos a shock

And the Silver Surfer true

Did what none other could do

Warlock distracted Thanos in rage

As the Silver Surfer with cosmic power

Turned defeat to victory in that hour

The Infinity Gauntlet was lost I am told

To find it again one must be bold

But the universe will remain whole

Unless it is found by Pip the Troll

The Babies Of Fallujah

The Babies Of Fallujah

Ain’t on glory in war cause its living hell

There’s depleted uranium in the artillery shell

How dare they fight to defend their land

We’ll give them a lesson they’ll understand

The babies of Fallujah hear them cry

The babies of Fallujah see them die

Gringo comes to kill never asking why

The babies of Fallujah hear them cry

There’s oil a plenty in that desert waste

We got freedom so lets give them a taste

Cowboy junkies addicted to endless war

The United States called Babylon the Whore

The babies of Fallujah hear them cry

The babies of Fallujah see them die

Gringo comes to kill never asking why

The babies of Fallujah hear them cry

Our favorite pastime is learning how to kill

We say we love Jesus but we don’t do God’s will

Bow down to the golden calf great is our greed

There’s a price to pay so we’ll make you bleed

The babies of Fallujah hear them cry

The babies of Fallujah see them die

Gringo comes to kill never asking why

The babies of Fallujah hear them cry

And its bombs bombs bombs away

Oh Lord Lucifer it’s a glorious day

And its bombs bombs bombs away

And the babies of Fallujah are the ones to pay

In the rubble of Fallujah so few survive

They give thanks and praise just to be alive

Life goes on but mutated babies are born

See the babies of Fallujah hear the mothers mourn

The babies of Fallujah hear them cry

The babies of Fallujah see them die

Gringo comes to kill never asking why

The babies of Fallujah hear them cry

Four Men from the Hay Market

Four Men from the Hay Market

May 4, 1886: Haymarket Tragedy

Four men

Who defied unjust laws

Four men

Who fought for our cause

Four men

Condemned to die

The damning testimony

From witnesses being paid to lie

Four men

Hoods over their head

Four men

Soon to be dead

Four men

From the gallows an angry word

If your listen real hard

Their voices can be heard

Albert Parsons

August Spies

Adolph Fischer

George Engel

Four men like you and I

Truth be said

The rich men are glad they are dead

As is the state

Full of contempt and hate

But that truth I deny

George Engel

Adolph Fischer

August Spies

Albert Parsons

Four men

They are alive and well

Four men their story we tell

Four men

Slaughtered in an angry rage

Will live into every age

They are alive upon this page

The battle for a just Earth

The fight for what is right

No matter how we suffer or hurt

We won’t bow down to their might

I curse you cowards hiding behind a wall

I curse you cowards seeking to take it all

Your evil dreams and wicked schemes

Are not as powerful as it seems

For men will fight be they great or small

And we shall answer

To those four men who still call

This is the message that we hear

Resonating eternally clear

We are not slaves but forever free

And we have a right to live decently

Four men who fought for all men

Let the battle rage once again

What do we have to lose but our pain

And everything to gain

Poet To The Poor

For Deyshia Hargrave

 For Deyshia Hargrave

I am the chronicler of our time

Deyshia Hargrave

You had best behave

Let me tell you of her crime

She wasn’t chewing bubble gum

That would have been glum

There was no teasing at all

Or wandering without a pass in the hall

Not a single vicious spitball was cast

Still her transgression was vast

Deyshia simply spoke her mind

To those in authority

But the bosses weren’t so kind

And in the Land of The Free

She was evicted from the room

Deyshia left voluntarily

But once outside the assembly

The marshal laid down the boom

Handcuffing Deyshia Hargrave

As if she was some wayward slave

She protested

To be molested

Then arrested

So the moral of the story

With all the unwanted glory

Teachers be smart and wise

Organize, organize, organize

One thing that you lack

Watch one another’s back

Poet to the Poor

 Poet to the Poor

Who will be the poet to the poor

For the abused, used, confused

Who aren't even aware

They have a hope and a prayer

Who will be the poet to the poor

Rich man's writer is but a whore

Producing propaganda for war

Or marketing merchandise to sell more

Who will be the poet to the poor

It's what these words are for
