Making Angels

Making Angels

From the heavens the pilots are full of fire

Rich men have no care for a poor man’s desire

Do as I say or you will meet a similar fate

And thus love loses to the forces of hate

They’re making angels crying we will win

They’re making angels the good of the sin

They’re making angels see the end begin

They’re making angels oh not again

We’re marching in the street we have no voice

We’re marching in the street we have no choice

One day I pray the woe of war will come to an end

He is not my enemy he is merely a distant friend

They’re making angels crying we will win

They’re making angels the good of the sin

They’re making angels see the end begin

They’re making angels oh not again

It’s half a world away so what do you care

God if but for once you heard our prayer

Evil men with evil goals they are in control

Evil men with evil goals they have no soul

They’re making angels crying we will win

They’re making angels the good of the sin

They’re making angels see the end begin

They’re making angels oh not again

I wish I was singing about flower blooming in June

I wish I was singing some whimsical merry tune

But this is a dirge of the empty apocalypse

Come closer sweet Lord Judas desires a kiss

Another unmarked grave to mock cruelty

Another war to bring us more futility

Meanwhile the angels circle in the wind

Press the button and everything will end

They’re making angels crying we will win

They’re making angels the good of the sin

They’re making angels see the end begin

They’re making angels oh not again

Military Industrial Complex

Military Industrial Complex

Every weapon

Is a dream forsaken

A piece of bread

Taken

From the mouth of the poor

Such is the horror

Of war

The factories work day and night

Weapons, uniforms, food, for those who fight

They are generously paid

For the goods that are made

See wicked men gray and old

Coveting coffers full of gold

Hear the tale they tell

Making Eden hell

All is not well

Nor shall things be

Until we are free

Of organized hate

We have no time to wait

The ship is sinking in the stormy sea

We must be free

In the depths of my heart there is a hole

I feel it vex

My soul

The Military Industrial Complex

Satan’s soldiers with suit and tie

Manipulating the nation with lie after lie

Hear the perishing baby

Give its final cry

Why?

For profits

For profit they die

The Humanity Of The Enemy

The Humanity Of The Enemy

Reality, is a rocking cradle, God is able, a miracle sleeps

Mother's gentle hand does not understand forces beyond her command

The winds wails, the system fails, hatred prevails

Religion, nationality, ethnicity, ideology, is null and void

As baby cries, humanity dies and the Earth is being destroyed

Outside miserable men march, in uniforms green, merchants of death

In a nursing home, beloved grandfather, flocked by family, takes his last breath

What matters? All of us possess things that bless, love and kindness in heart

Our common humanity greatly outweighs what we have apart

The byproduct of the war machine, is most obscene, obstinately unclean

Impoverished billions in continents far, millions wallow in poverty here

Bickering politicians want to kill social security, to save a dime, what a crime

Organized violence, requires no license, blessed by wizards of science

Sucking brain power, they devour the intelligentsia, captivated

So the real issue, the virtue of bettering mankind is abandoned far behind

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

Are those words wrong or are those words true?

We shall escape the rape of the world in its savage brutality

When see with our eyes and realize the humanity of enemy

Chaplain Harry’s Regret

 Chaplain Harry’s Regret

Harry Emerson Fosdick as a young man was an officer in the United States Army during World War I. In his capacity as chaplain he would pray with the soldiers who would attack the German machine gun nest. The majority of the soldiers would never return alive. In later life the preacher regretted this part of his past.

What I’d done I’d rather not say

We would gather

In the morn to start the day

How could a word to the Creator be ill?

I prayed for blessings to kill

I prayed for blessings to kill!

I prayed for blessings to kill

I would look the boys in their eyes

And fill their heads with lies

And say, “Boys do your best”

The machine gun nest they would attack

And most would not come back

I now walk the silent ground

Once filled with explosions and horrid sound

White crosses abound

Everywhere to be found

Lined neatly and precise row by row

Oh the secrets they know

I too was once young in age

My deeds recorded on eternal page

Yes I too was once the fool

The devil’s tool

What is war?

Once this green silent meadow

Was divided by two trenches defining no man’s land

War is Hell and nothing grand

It is humanity’s ugliest blight

And till this day fills me with fright

When I lay on my bed calm, serene and still

Recalling how I prayed for blessings to kill

I prayed for blessings to kill……

Days Of Your Life

 Days Of Your Life

Welcome to this place we call school

Open your eyes be wise play the fool

Inside your heart our darkness shall rule

A cog in our machine you’re the perfect tool

Be a good little boy

One day you’ll enter heaven with joy

Endless questions only annoy

Be a good little boy

Learn your lessons and learn them well

Never mind be blind to this living hell

Study hard and we shall indoctrinate

Gone is your love welcome in hate

Be a diligent young man

Play your part in the master plan

Serve the state yes you can

Be a diligent young man

These are the days of your life just a flash

Inside your mind sense and reason clash

These are the days of your life soon to end

You have no answers you just merely pretend

Rocks red glare bursting in the air

To scared for anything save prayer

Mangled bodies war is a sordid affair

A hard way to learn they really don’t care

Be a courageous young soldier

March forward be bolder

Carry the cross on your soldier

Be a courageous young soldier

And you teach your children the same wicked sin

And you teach your children that life’s a game to win

And you grow old and pretend to be wise

These are the days of your life only lies

Rock And A Hard Place

Rock And A Hard Place

My passion ain’t fashion I was raised on rock and roll

We need some action before we get complete control

Long ago the devil told me so Go sell your soul

Maximum profits my dear is their ultimate goal

I was caught between a rock and a hard place

I really fought in a rock and a hard place

I gave my heart to a woman full of grace

I was caught between a rock and a hard place

I am a rebel by choice because of reality

I am a soldier of fortune we all should be free

Turn the other cheek while you carry your cross with joy

You have two paths to tread on either build or destroy

I was caught between a rock and a hard place

I really fought in a rock and a hard place

I gave my heart to a woman full of grace

I was caught between a rock and a hard place

General Patton was a paranoid son of a bitch

His hand on the trigger with a permanent itch

The next world war is going to be fought by the poor

It’s the same old ugly scene that we’ve seen before

I was caught between a rock and a hard place

I really fought in a rock and a hard place

I gave my heart to a woman full of grace

I was caught between a rock and a hard place

Rock and Roll refugee turn up the bass

Rock and Roll refuge with a stone face

Rock and Roll pilgrim heading to outer space

Caught between a rock and a hard place

In agony I sing this song in a final plea

Barter with this martyr look how beautiful things could be

Come on baby take my hand Revelation eleven

Let’s prove that love is real and in the deal get heaven

I was caught between a rock and a hard place

I really fought in a rock and a hard place

I gave my heart to a woman full of grace

I was caught between a rock and a hard place

The Circle Ends

 The Circle Ends

FAWM # 17

At the pauper’s school camp fires burns bright

Jeremiah said to Baruch write boy write

I’m a fighter jet pilot looking to score

They say we love you but dig Isaiah more

Drop the bombs let the missiles fly

I ain’t an infidel though I really try

And we all know the circle ends

Dreamers are schemers she pretends

If we’re not lovers lets be friends

And we all know the circle ends

There are two sides of the story quote the youth

Yours ain’t mine and neither is the truth

Coleman was a soul man preaching hard

He didn’t have a license only a business card

Willow whistles like the west wind blows

Secrets by definition nobody knows

And we all know the circle ends

Dreamers are schemers she pretends

If we’re not lovers lets be friends

And we all know the circle ends

Free will necessitates we all do wrong

Fat Friar Freddy sings a peculiar song

Cease and desist I hope you’ll resist

I drink vodka straight with a lemon twist

Loaded and locked sir we’re ready to kill

The general smiles war is such a thrill

And we all know the circle ends

Dreamers are schemers she pretends

If we’re not lovers lets be friends

And we all know the circle ends

Little Willie is a sorry silly thing

He wears a crown but he ain’t a king

I wanna get wet I don’t regret high school

Carrying cash and hash don’t make you cool

Willow smiles saying Jeremiah come on in

If you say a prayer before is it a sin?\

And we all know the circle ends

Dreamers are schemers she pretends

If we’re not lovers lets be friends

And we all know the circle ends

Rain

Rain

On the shore of evermore the armies march to war

A terrible scene that we’ve seen many times before

For God country and king the united voices sing

Doom death and destruction the fruits they bring

May the heavens open let it rain

Can sinners be forgiven let it rain

A baptism of fire ample pain

Life mysteries that none can explain

Let it rain let it rain let it rain

A mother’s weeping bitter tears flowing as a stream

Her son’s a casualty and thus dies the dream

She clutches a photograph he’s in his uniform

How many will perish in this devilish dark storm

May the heavens open let it rain

Can sinners be forgiven let it rain

A baptism of fire ample pain

Life mysteries that none can explain

Let it rain let it rain let it rain

Businessmen with greedy minds clutch coins of gold

Don’t you know that long ago their souls they sold

Fluent in lies it’s no surprise the words they tell

They promise heaven on Earth bringing only hell

May the heavens open let it rain

Can sinners be forgiven let it rain

A baptism of fire ample pain

Life mysteries that none can explain

Let it rain let it rain let it rain

And the child is innocent pure as a dove

And the child is innocent secure in love

The tender shoot they pollute with deceit

A wicked world always to compete

An innocent man there was in some distant time

Nailed to the cross telling the truth his only crime

Sacred saints recorded his words in a holy book

The profits of today say amen and never look

May the heavens open let it rain

Can sinners be forgiven let it rain

A baptism of fire ample pain

Life mysteries that none can explain

Let it rain let it rain let it rain

When I Get Home

 When I Get Home

I was never a hero only trying to survive

There’s something righteous about being alive

I don’t believe in some greater call

But for my brother I’d give it all

When I get home, When I get home

I want the peace I’ve never known

When I get home, when I get home

I want some grace of my own

When I get home, when I get home

Twisted and trained they broke my will

Without hesitation is how you kill

But I saw the humanity of the enemy

I looked in his eyes and I saw me

When I get home, When I get home

I want the peace I’ve never known

When I get home, when I get home

I want some grace of my own

When I get home, when I get home

Same old scam same old lies like before

There is a foe and that foe is war

The rich drink martinis as the poor die

And a sick greed is the reason why

When I get home, When I get home

I want the peace I’ve never known

When I get home, when I get home

I want some grace of my own

When I get home, when I get home

I have medals and stories I don’t want to share

Most of all I’m looking for somebody to care

I’m looking for somebody to offer more than prayer

In the heat of the street you can meet me there

When I get home, When I get home

I want the peace I’ve never known

When I get home, when I get home

I want some grace of my own

When I get home, when I get home

An Open Letter To James Mattis

Dear James Mattis,

I hope you are well and I wish you luck in finding new work. I am confident that you will find something, perhaps as a lobbyist or television commentator.  I would like to thank you for your service to our nation, but I feel that you have only served a certain segment. I truly don’t think that you have served the poor of this land, but I guess that is debatable. I think it is horrific that our young men and women had to become ‘cannon fodder.’ In my mind I recall families scrapping together money so that they could purchase protective armor for military vehicles in Iraq. While this would be perfectly understandable if the Pentagon’s budget were small, it is bloated. We have money to spend developing new sophisticated and horrific weapons but not to adequately protect our troops. This is not entirely your fault, nor are you to blame that over twenty of our veterans commit suicide every day. Alas, I sadly must say that you have contributed to this problem by conducting business as usual.

Let us be perfectly honest and admit that if things don’t change in the world, the United States will be waging war against both China and Russia. In your letter, you refer to them as “strategic competitors.” Unless the United States finds some way to undermine these sovereign governments as they have done in Chile, Iran and elsewhere, war looms near. I am confident you do understand that there is no winning a nuclear war. Furthermore, even a war without using nuclear weapons war would cause the deaths of tens of millions of people if not hundreds of millions. I find this unacceptable.

James, might I suggest to you that you are not identifying the enemy correctly. War is the greatest evil that mankind has ever created. Think of all that is involved in war. Imagine what all those engineers and brilliant minds could have done with their talents instead of inventing satanic weapons of destruction. Think of the high cost of lives of soldiers and civilians. Think of the massive destruction of civilization. Think of the polluting of the environment. Think of the ill will and the hatred that is caused. War itself is the enemy.

So we need to ask that question, and that is ‘Why do we have war?’ The answer is very simple; people profit off of war. They don’t only make a little they make immense amounts of wealth. I am sure you understand the propaganda, lies, and manipulation that occur to wage wars in the first place. We are not fighting a war on terror but rather the United States has become the terroristic nation. To prove this fact I only need to count the dead, see where they died and find out who killed them.

While I am not a big fan of President Donald Trump I applaud his announcement to withdraw troops from Syria. It is a step in the right direction. The wrong direction is Armageddon. Perhaps that event of Biblical proportions is inevitable, but I would like to delay that dark day for as long as possible. Peace motivates me to write this letter.

If you care to visit and civilly talk things over, I more than welcome you to my home. I do not know your history intimately, but I am quite confident that you are vastly more acquainted with the horrors of war than am I. My expertise lies in understanding Jesus Christ who among the many titles he wears is called “The Prince of Peace.” He has commanded us to love even our enemies. While perhaps that might sound illogical to a military man like you it makes perfect sense. In fact that one commandment, if adhered to, may prevent a nuclear holocaust.

Sincerely,

John Kaniecki

"Credible Lies" by Faleeha Hassan

Credible Lies

By Faleeha Hassan

Oh, Faleeha
How brilliant is your future
I whisper in my ear
And pat my shoulder
Every morning
I open my day with a big lie
I tell myself
Faleeha
leave the news to the promoters of rumors
And the houses being bombed by skilled pilots
They will be rebuilt immediately afterward
Leave Iraqi women to be sold in the Sbaya Bazaar in Mosul
Mothers will give birth to other daughters nine months later
Don’t worry about the man who sells his life for a handful of coins under the sweltering sun
One day he will be able to get a Chinese umbrella
Don’t worry about your niece whose face now being eaten by skin cancer
She will get through photoshop a wonderful picture for her profile on Facebook
Why do you look so long at picture of your friend who is missing from Kuwait war?
He is lucky
He survived the darkness of grave
Oh, Faleeha
Leave the children of Baghdad to wake up to violent explosions
Music is no longer fit for their mornings
Write down the martyrs names on a piece of a paper and place it in your old coat and leave it in the closet
Or send it to the dry cleaners
I’m tired of counting the names of the martyrs and the war never ends
Faleeha
Don’t plan for the future
It is as a close as   a sniper’s bullet
Yes ,
I open my day with a big
Big
Big lie

But no lie can cover the scary truth
