Finding Peace

 Finding Peace

I read the articles of confederation

And the Bible all about salvation

But words on paper failed my cause

For man is not bound by laws

The generals gave me quite an alarm

His job was causing others harm

I refused even to give a simple salute

I’ve rejected the entire institute

At every juncture I took a turn

Lies and deceit lessons to learn

Meeker and weaker from my tries

I began to peel away at the disguise

The monster underneath grew clearer

In horror I discovered a mirror

‘Peace on Earth’ such a lofty goal

And I a child with a bitter soul

So I surrendered my frown for a smile

I escaped from the demon of denial

I said peace isn’t something you find

Peace is really a state of mind

There is only one way to start

And that is to put love in your heart

So I set off in Mother Earth with seeds to sow

To everyone I gave a friendly ‘hello’

Listen to this truth I say

Small things they go a long way

I dream of the bombs becoming obsolete

I dream of a world without victory of defeat

But the mountain of hatred is far too immense

And the insanity never made any sense

So I changed those things that I could

To everyone and all I did good

Then and there I had my release

This is my lesson in finding peace

You Me and our Melody

 You Me and our Melody

I saw you in the muted light

You were such a dazzling sight

Something told me here’s your chance

So I asked you for a dance

You and me and our melody

We are dancing, dancing free

Life is wonderful fantasy

You and me and our melody

Well you swayed lightly on your feet

And your perfume was exquisitely sweet

I though my God what did I do

To meet someone as fine as you

You and me and our melody

We are dancing, dancing free

Life is wonderful fantasy

You and me and our melody

Well time has passed it’s been ten years

We shared some laughter we shared some tears

And ever since the night we met

I have not had one single regret

And I’m a proud as a man can be

Of our lovely daughter Melody

You and me and our melody

We are dancing, dancing free

Life is wonderful fantasy

You and me and our melody

In Memory Of Louis Angel Ramirez Junior

In Memory Of Louis Angel Ramirez Junior

Hey baby this is momma here

Thinking of you

As I always do

Facing the fear

That you are gone

Passed on

To somewhere beyond the sky blue

I love you

And always will

Still

Nothing I can do

Will ease the pain

Sorrow is a dirty stain

Never to be washed white

But hey I’ll be alright

It’ll be three years

Of agony and tears

Since you said goodbye

And made momma cry

You’ll never drive your fast car

Or see the animals at the zoo

Seems you placed your bet

And won the prize of regret

But we’ll never forget

This I promise

How could I let go?

Don’t you know

You will always be with me

Closer than my skin

Deep within

So I’ll light a candle

And forsake the cake

As I try to handle

The heart break

The greatest sin

Is what could have been

But I will be grateful

On the times wonderful

We had together
