Solidarity Singers Anthem

Solidarity Singers Anthem

Well Bennet and Karen were riding to a protest in D.C.

In perfect harmony he said I like how you sing with me

We should get together and sing for every righteous cause

Encourage the poor and protest unjust laws

We are the Solidarity singers lend us your voice

We are the Solidarity singers we shall rejoice

We’re going to sing sing sing and never cease

We are the Solidarity singers we stand for love and peace

Well along came Tom who could write those song lyrics so mighty fine

Even if you don’t believe in God we are simply divine

Now here’s a message for the young and it’s the absolute truth

They killed Jesus Christ because he spoke the truth

We are the Solidarity singers lend us your voice

We are the Solidarity singers we shall rejoice

We’re going to sing sing sing and never cease

We are the Solidarity singers we stand for love and peace

We won’t forget our dear Carol Gay though she’s passed from this place

Quick with a chant on the picket line and a smile on her face

In memory of all those brave heroes who have passed beyond

The struggle for mankind’s freedom still goes on

We are the Solidarity singers lend us your voice

We are the Solidarity singers we shall rejoice

We’re going to sing sing sing and never cease

We are the Solidarity singers we stand for love and peace

Today is the moment to implement the permanent solution

We believe in the power of nonviolent revolution

Each human being is an equal nobody is supreme

We offer you our hand come and join the dream

We are the Solidarity singers lend us your voice

We are the Solidarity singers we shall rejoice

We’re going to sing sing sing and never cease

We are the Solidarity singers we stand for love and peace
