Outer Limits

Outer Limits

Too poor for the poor house
Said the rat to the mouse
But if you please
Share with me your cheese

Round and round and round and round
Poets search
While in church
Nothing is found
Except excess repetition
And vain ambition
Watch as they pass the collection plate
Keep an eye on the preacher
Keep an eye on the teacher
Cause they're full of hate

They speak in Latin
Pig Latin of course
The speak in Latin
And it's all for the worse

William Shatner and Mr. Spock
Chekov was gay
What a shock

Meanwhile on the Serengeti sands
A harsh reality takes commands
Zebras shedding their stripes
Let's admit it
The world needs all types

Hail Mary full of grace
They send space ships
To the outreaches of outer space
Perhaps one day
With a dutiful toot
We can expand the expanse
Upon which we pollute

The Stonewall Shuffle

The Stonewall Shuffle

By John Kaniecki

It was an ancient time of regret
When LGBTQ were simply letters of the alphabet
Where the closet was the only safe place
And Stonewall a haven of grace
In came the police
Allegedly keeping the peace
But the lesson
Was simply brutal oppression
But unlike all the times before
These were the parting shots of a war
In Greenwich Village on the street
The protests grew and drew the heat
And so a movement had begun
But freedom is never won
Every generation
Needs to seek their own salvation
For the forces of those in control
Seek to devour mind body and soul
So take a chance
And dance
The Stonewall Shuffle
Put your right foot in
Be confident you will win
Take your left arm out
Fight without any doubt
Twist your body all around
In the struggle your own self will be found
Take your partner by the hand
Years later they’ll come to understand
As police commissioner James O’Neill said in his sorry song
We were wrong, we were wrong, we were wrong
Now keep both feet planted
Don’t take anything for granted
Because what rules the moment
Is whatever is expedient
So live life in what is wonderful
Do the Stonewall Shuffle

Wolfgang Howl

Wolfgang Howl

By John Kaniecki

On a moonless eve
When clouds shroud the sky
They gather their instruments in a growl
They are the Wolfgang Howl
The darkest heavy metal band
Rocking any land
A fine canine gang
Cursing in fluent slang
The lead singer
Is Abdul the cool pit bull
On bass with a pudgy face
Is Rex with paws of grace
Shredding the electronic axe
The mighty Doberman Jack
Playing drums with his tail
Is Bert the mutt with a wild wail
There is a host of foxes back stage
All underage
No punk cats dare go
To the rocking show
“We are the Wolfgang Howl with drooling fangs”
“Our songs are supreme with the biggest of bangs”
“Give us some steaks we don’t want any bones”
“We are royal dogs sitting on golden thrones”
“We run in the day we prowl in the night”
“We do more than bark we’re willing to fight”
Their album went platinum
They were number one
All of the mailmen were overcome
And we’re put on the run
The Wolfgang Howl proud and defiant
They came together meeting at a fire hydrant
But alas they all got fat and lazy
Jack went acoustic and Abdul went crazy
They split vowing never to reunite no more
But alas it came to pass they had a fair well tour
Because despite all of their flaws
They were true to the cause
And they liked the money for sure

Capitalism

Capitalism

By John Kaniecki

Let's grow the economy
Broadcasts bleach blonde buxom blinking blue eyes
Got plenty of fertilizer
For sure, for sure, for sure
Let's plant another seed
Of blatant greed
Water it
With blood mixed with oil
Mulching
Of collateral damage
Mangled bodies of women and children
Limbs carelessly tossed
Unceremoniously
Into shallow graves
Everything we reap
We'll keep
Never mind trickle down
Miserable misers
Giving a frown to a clown
As bums bum in double time
Hey brother can you spare a dime?

Poetry Critics

Poetry Critics

Never let them define your dream
Or tell you, you're not aloud to rhyme
Give them hell, yell and scream
Speak up loud it's your dime
Cause when you're on the avenue
It's just your shadow and you
And all those people you used to know
Are just scenes from another show
Now is the moment
Today is the day
Call out the cry
All the tears you spent
The dues you pay
Are the answer why

We all make mistakes
We all achieve
You got what it takes
If only you believe
So many critics
Crushing your heart
So many critics
Producing dead art

Many years hence
When we are at rest
Critics, well they make no sense
Cause critics fail the test

Can I Get A Witness?

Can I Get A Witness?

A practical guide to sharing your faith

The great commission is pretty clear, that we are to go into the whole world and make disciples. But exactly how is one to accomplish this? Furthermore what if a person isn’t called to be an evangelist?

“Can I Get A Witness?” explores what God requires from each and every member of the church. By using Biblical scriptures and principles with real-life experience this book empowers those wishing to glorify God by sharing their faith. The church is on the decline and we need to turn the tide and labor for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Can I Get A Witness" is informative, practical and entertaining. The book is an easy read with clear teachings.

The Betrayal Of Julian Assange

The Betrayal Of Julian Assange

By John Kaniecki

Today the truth was crucified
By the very devils who lied
Who are these pompous men?
With hands drenched in blood
Pretending to be innocent
Pretending to be benevolent
For all the woes of the Earth they are to blame
And they have added one more shame
A speaker of the truth
A man who resisted the madness
Julian Assange was arrested
For you see in this modern time
Honesty is a perilous crime
For the castles built on sand
Will never stand
When the angry waves roll in
And the oligarchs
Earn the wages of their sin
Sharpen the blades of the guillotine
It is time to make society clean
Sharpen the blades of the guillotine
For the traitors' wickedness is obscene
United we stand divided we fall
To the ends of the Earth I make my call
Stand now and fight
Stand now and make it right
Do not let them gag this brave man
Rebel, do all you can
