What We Buried

What We Buried

Crucified electrified with a mutual dream to share

Felt the fire in the church choir we had one hell of a prayer

Repenting over Lamentations nobody mentions joy

Like and Adam and Eve I believe in girl meeting boy

What we buried made us strong

Love is more than right and wrong

What we buried didn’t belong

And now we got ourselves a new song

In a teenage daydream an endless scream trying to escape

The rules at the schools were made for the fools a mental rape

Don’t mention questions the idea is to regurgitate

Economics is greed which leads to philosophies of hate

What we buried made us strong

Love is more than right and wrong

What we buried didn’t belong

And now we got ourselves a new song

Under the midnight moon at the lagoon naked like birth

God may not test you but you still gotta prove what your worth

In the water innocence slaughtered we did more than kiss

So many years down the line feeling fine now we reminisce.

What we buried made us strong

Love is more than right and wrong

What we buried didn’t belong

And now we got ourselves a new song

Well your friend was nowhere to be found

The proper preacher pronounced us hell bound

Sometimes two plus two equals four

You’ll never win cause it’s a sin keeping score

We flew to Vegas two lovers living life like a charm

God damn Elvis was my best man we were walking arm in arm

Life’s a gamble we went on a ramble next stop paradise

Numbers mean nothing if you don’t have courage to throw the dice

What we buried made us strong

Love is more than right and wrong

What we buried didn’t belong

And now we got ourselves a new song
