The Mushroom Musical By John Kaniecki

For your reading entertainment.

The Mushroom Musical

By John Kaniecki

People, people, people
Huddled cold
Young and old
Under the church steeple
Envying the mouse
For his fine, fine house
No angelic choir
Only croaking frogs
And barking dogs
Scaring the kitty cats
While mothers admonish
Their spoiled brats
Cursing words obscene
We are all awaiting the creature green
To enter the scene
With tail a wagging
Where is the dragon?
Sometimes the truth is lies
Just ask the flies
For their alibis
They will blame the wizards
For casting spells
Or horrific lizards
Raging hells
Here’s something new
A goat dancing with an emu
Now silence permeates
As everybody awaits
In enters the milk cow
We have frozen him somehow
For in our dream
We are hoping for ice cream
Ah the illusion softly dies
As we all melt into butterflies
That’s all I can recall
Of The Mushroom Musical

Enter the poetic world of John Kaniecki.....
