By Denny Marshall
No electricity tonight
By the table in candlelight
Of all the writing volumes vast
Imagine this poem is the last
Wonder the hour, no Mayan clock
Symbols carved into ancient rock
The final line exploding fast
Imagine this poem is the last
O’ twelve on the calendar.
Rhyme pouring down like Challenger
Except this page lacking a past
Imagine this poem is the last
No electricity tonight
By the table in candlelight
Of all the writing volumes vast
Imagine this poem is the last
Wonder the hour, no Mayan clock
Symbols carved into ancient rock
The final line exploding fast
Imagine this poem is the last
O’ twelve on the calendar.
Rhyme pouring down like Challenger
Except this page lacking a past
Imagine this poem is the last
