Niko Black was a Native American woman suffering from cancer. Her condition was terminal. Worse Wells Fargo came and evicted her from her home illegally. There was an order from a Federal judge prohibiting the eviction and the loan made to Niko was fraudulent being predatory in nature and not signed by her.
Say what you want to say or think what you want to think but any system that will allow a terminally ill cancer patient to get evicted from their home is a broken system. I cannot find the fate of Niko Black. This poem was written for her.
Niko
By John Kaniecki
Niko, Niko
They busted down your door
They got silver badges and loaded guns
Remember way back, them pilgrims from before
These are their arrogant sons
Federal judge says I can stay
He made a ruling in my case
Who cares about the law anyway?
You gotta learn your place
The rules we conveniently enforce
Whenever it fits our need
We bow down to a higher force
The Merchants of Greed
Sir I have no place to live
I suffer from a severe disease
The Merchants of Greed never forgive
Even if you get down on your knees
Don’t you understand money is in control?
Pieces of green paper matter more than your soul
The banks pay our salary and they bribe real well
So leave your happy home, goodbye and farewell
A thousand broken treaties, countless lies
Still taking pride in their genocide
A billion sad sorry alibis
The truth of the matter constantly denied
Niko, Niko
Where will you go?
And they say capitalism ain’t cruel?
And they say capitalism ain’t cruel?
