Fishing
Down beneath the waters blue
Await treasures for me and you
Cause in the depths you’ll find
Fishes of every kind
To nourish the body and please your mind
Get line, hook and bait
Cast it into the water and patiently wait
Soon you’ll have a nibble or two
I think you know what to do
On a good day when all is done
You have food for everyone
Let alone a whale of fun
Once the fish seemed infinite in number
But the protectors began to slumber
Now the rivers are polluted foul
And islands of plastic are on the prowl
The ocean in life’s womb
No our mother lurks in gloom
But we can unite to turn the dirty tide
The clean the waters broad and wide
If we do not turn and repent
Gone will be the treasures heaven sent
And as we perish we will be wishing
That we could once again
Go fishing.
