Leap Of Faith
Baby I was born in middle class doldrums
As far from the palaces as the dirty slums
The kids were cruel the names and fists flew
I was missing things that I never knew
Leap of faith I’m giving it a try
Leap of faith it’s now or die
Leap of faith I believe I can fly
Leap of faith I’m giving it a try
Lost in a social holocaust terribly shy
A million questions all starting with Why
I was a fool they were cruel and I believed
Oh how far I fell knowing I was deceived
Leap of faith I’m giving it a try
Leap of faith it’s now or die
Leap of faith I believe I can fly
Leap of faith I’m giving it a try
My rock and roll savior sold out to pop
She kept going long after I said stop
Beer on tap at five thirty Hudson street
Where do you go after you admit defeat?
Leap of faith I’m giving it a try
Leap of faith it’s now or die
Leap of faith I believe I can fly
Leap of faith I’m giving it a try
So hear I am writing poetry for the love of art
Doesn’t matter how clever or even that I’m smart
All roads lead to Rome and then death’s the final home
May I suggest the Book of Love it’s a righteous tome?
So here we are looking for a rhythm guitar
So here we are pretending to be a star
Soon beyond the moon on to Jupitar
Look in the mirror find out who you are
Leap of faith I’m giving it a try
Leap of faith it’s now or die
Leap of faith I believe I can fly
Leap of faith I’m giving it a try
