Raven

 Raven

Angels may fly to celestial heights

Of glorious colors mostly whites

But ravens, dark and grim

Are merely shades and shadows of Him

Tall Scarecrow talk of living hell

Of all of the intricate moments tell

Raven

Nevermore only for the poor?

Poe some moral whore

But who am I to count the score?

Jesus & Jesus alone

Pick the meat from the bone

Dark wings, lice stings, see what tomorrow brings

Blessings from the King of Kings

Fly Raven fly, fly and cry, cry Raven cry, fly

Heaven is low

But don’t you know

Heaven is low

I suggest Poet To The Poor to find more of the same. But here are the books.

Paid Poetry

I’m a poet. Thus, I am an artist. This is simple log like X+y+z=33/2.54 Now that’s complex!

I’m gong to offer poets everything I want in a poetry magazine and I’m going to ask everything I want for a poetry magazine.

Pay $10 to $100. I will publish one poem a month God willing. I will offer feedback. If your poem sucks, I will tell you so. Hopefully there will be something redeemable to mention. The sliding scale of pay will reflect the quality of the poem.

Now what do I want? As far as poetry well check out the blog and check out my poetry books. It is my desire that my art be spread to the whole world.

Details.

B. You must follow my blog.

C. The poem must be unpublished and your own work. If you plagiarize and I find out I will try to destroy your career and reputation. Yes, Facebook or other social media constitutes being published.

C1. One poem a month. Violate the rule and you're banned for life.

D. I love poetic techniques.

E. Try to rhyme.

F. If your free verse isn’t like Robert Hayden’s Middle Passage, think twice.

F. I will delete any email with an attachment, put the poem in the body of the email.

G. No cover letters. Nothing but the poem and your name.

H. Payment by PayPal

Submit here.

Alpha -Footnote. I would only attempt to destroy your career over plagiarism. That is if you steal a poem and claim it as your own.

Cry Freedom (To Trudy My Nurse)

Cry Freedom (To Trudy My Nurse)

By John Kaniecki

Cry freedom, cry and wail

Awesome, awesome is your tale

Steven Biko the former saint

With rainbow colors so you paint

Cry freedom, shout the scream

Never sleep, never doubt the dream

Words they fail

Actions prevail

Cry freedom I shall cry along

Together the better in melodic song

Righteousness, bliss & sweet lover’s kiss

Evil is wrong

CRY FREEDOM CRY!

Live or die, Love is why!

The chorus before us
Jesus

Messiah on the cross

His gain our loss?

Cry freedom cry

NO MORE TO CRUCIFY

Cry freedom cry

Truth tells no lie

The Folk Queen Dream of Sub City (Dedicated to Tracy Chapman)

The Folk Queen Dream of Sub City (Dedicated to Tracy Chapman)

By John Kaniecki

I’ve walked the avenue

Sown in the same rhythmic soil of fading blue

Streets submerge bellow bottomed out Lead Belly blue

Tracy

Not the over pimped tax exempt jail bait whore

You performed a different score

Chords from your treasure box

Folk Rock

Hear the wind whistling harmony

You are never far from me

“And we’re still talkin’ about a revolution”

Suddenly your face appears in the magical music store

Microwave swift promoted synthesized solution

Late night t.v. shows

Career-choking tensions mount as accountants count

God only knows

Business blood leech bloated

By dingy dogs thrice returning to their vomit who noted

To the snorting pigs wearing Washington era replica wigs

Glowing, showing, knowing, first rowing at all your gigs

Yeah you’re a genius hovering, discovering a new Bach

Subtle black shadow of Folk Rock

Sell your soul

Be commercial

If the fine print chicken scratch

Ain’t DNA perfection match

You’re caught in a platinum plated hooked catch

You used to play for a meal

Faded jeans torn from life's tongue-slashing torment

Always a full-blooded member of the tribe

At the back of the bus

Laughing loosing life’s lackluster fickle frown

Getting down

Breaking boards to explore tombstone homes vacated

Before the score another ‘sistah’ seriously hated

Cool lady, tiger growling, prowling

It's Vegas casino venture baby, house always wins, get it?

Don't let them carve up your song to fit their delusions

Forever

And ever

The Folk Queen Dream of Sub City

Mister Neal

Mister Neal

Well hello there dear Mister Neal

I wonder if the music is still real

Are you doing just what you feel

You know you’re my favorite by far

You can sing and you can play guitar

And the words which you express

Kinda explain life’s dull mess

Life’s an endless encore

And Mister Neal I want more

So before you leave me

Play just one more melody

Well hello there dear Mister Neal

Tell me what’s the deal

If I said you were a messiah

Then I’d certainly be a liar

But you are a voice calling out

If only to increase our doubt

But I know it comes from the heart

And today honesty is a lost art

Life’s an endless encore

And Mister Neal I want more

So before you leave me

Play just one more melody

Well hello there dear Mister Neal

A grunge warrior with great appeal

If you ever do hear this song

Then you’ll know its all gone wrong

But you’ll hear it I know for sure

Take what you are you need no more

Cause if you try to be what you’re not

You’ll never hit the jackpot

Life’s an endless encore

And Mister Neal I want more

So before you leave me

Play just one more melody

Neil Young is the greatest artist of the musical genre that ever existed. He has proved mastery over almost every element. Sure some of his stuff sucks but hey who's perfect besides Jesus? So to explain this song the name is spelled purposely wrong. (Wow that was a hard one to figure out!) As an artist, and Neil maybe you could respect this. I don't want anybody messing with my song to f@@@@@@@@@@@@t it all up. Like the seven fat cows and the seven skinny cows. Famine is coming. They fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukced up the weather. Good thing my Cherokee brothers and sisters know how to deal with it. Andrew Jackson, gerrrr. Want's me to unleash the dragon! Hey did you buy my memoirs. What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukced are you waiting for? Anyway, there is fun and seriousness.

We are living in a time where we need the world to come together in peace. I love you, Neil Young. Your music helped a tormented child find peace and believe in love. I would play your albums. All of them. I owned all of them. And I loved almost all of the tracks. Little Wing, Captain Kennedy. The list goes on. I don't think I could have survived without the deep beauty that you blessed me with. I love you. I never met you. You seem selfish but I don't know they say bad things about me too. What you need Neil is to get real. Your best art is ahead of you, I firmly believe that. When I won't blow your mind you come and visit me anytime you want. Love John Kaniecki 19 Sylvan Place Montclair New Jersey. If I ain't home please forgive me I am after all only.....  Here's my number 862 485 2856. Try calling maybe you'll get through. I'll only have eight billion people calling.
